You know you're a mom when....

1) When your daughter wakes up in the morning and runs to use the potty.
We're on our third bout if potty training. Obviosly the other two weren't sucsessful :( She would do really good for a few days then just start refusing to use the potty and demanded diapers. Time around its been between 8-10 days and going good. She still has accidents but less now than before. She still can't figure out when she has to go #2 so ends up going in her undies. Something I despise having to clean up!

2) When having to buy less diapers makes you jump for joy.
Yes I mean literally! A box of diapers that normally last only 2 weeks had last 3 weeks now and we still have over half our diapers left! That alone makes me really happy because we're saving the money. Face it diapers are expensive, and not exacly eco-friendly, and deffinatly no one friendly when they have a suprise in them! So I am more than happy to be able to say "bye bye" to diapers. They day we can officially say goodbye Im going to go celebrate.

3) When your child puts their own shoes on without any help.
Its a big step for kids and takes alot of concentration and effort on their part. We keep our shoes on a shelf next to the door and Buggie goes and plays with them putting different shoes on. She started out wearing DH's shoes then moved on to mine and finnaly graduated to her own shoes. The day she put them on, didn't matter if they were on the right foot or not, was a joyful day. Means I don't have to fight with her to wear shoes anymore. She happy enough to wear them now that she can do it by herself.

4) When your child can dress themselves.
Buggie comes out of her room all dressed up in her play dress cloathes all the time now. Its pretty awesome that she can dress herself. Ofcourse now that she can dress herself she want to pick out her own cloathes. Everytime we go to get dressed I have to give her options now. If you choose something she doesn't like she refuses to wear it and picks out a different outfit.

5) Your proud of your kid for the darndest things.
Buggie can count 1-3 in chinease and do a few sign language signs....and sing a song in sign language. I bought her a build-a-bear workshop game two days ago and she as stuff unlocked within the game that I cant figure out. Shes mastered the video and shes only 2! Yes, I know what your thinking, 'a 2 year old with a DS'. It's actually my DH's DS but he lets her play with it because he doesnt. We didn't just set out to buy her one. We do however buy her games for it. She has a childrens story book game, the build a bear game, a mickey mouse game and farm game. All of which I have played before I let her so that I can monitor the content. We dont have a portable DVD player for her when we go somewhere, we have the DS instead.

So yes, I am a mom. To a very stubborn and opinionated 2 year old. Personally I think she gets it from her dad. At her age I was quiet and shy. I hated attention. Buggie loves the attention, even does things to get attention. Shes loud and outgoing. She only plays shy when she doesnt fell good. I think its a good thing because it will be easier for her to make friends, which we've already proven. She met a little girl at a little resteraunt in three rivers and cried when the little girl had to leave. Buggie had said she was her friend. I think being a mom is a blessing and its hard. Maybe thats why we get excited and proud of our children for the smallest things. It makes us feel like we've accomplished something that all our hardwork wasnt for nothing. So keep on bragging about the little things your kids do. So what if people look at you weird. It probably means they dont have kids of their own.
